These two pro-establishment political organisations established respectively in 2011 and 2012, are collectively referred to as the "Love Hong Kong" organisations. Voice of Loving Hong Kong is led by businessman Patrick Ko and Caring Hong Kong Power is led by Sum Chan. Both organisations are known for their confrontational and sometimes violent approach, and are often seen disrupting events or otherwise disturbing peaceful gatherings organised by pro-democracy activists by heckling and shouting at opponents.

These groups have often participated in rallies and activities against the Umbrella occupation protests, such as giving flowers to the police, loudly calling for strict adherence to the letter of the law, soliciting donations to investigate their opponents in the pro-democracy movements. They have voiced support for the use of fire-arms by police and the deployment of the People's Liberation Army against Occupy protesters. According to media reports, following an attempt by Patrick Ko's group to harass occupiers in Mong Kok, Ko suggest during a discussion forum organised by Chan's group that he "could not guarantee there whether there would be any incidents in the near future would not be without bloodshed" or "fisticuffs". Following this boast/threat, the website of Caring Hong Kong Power was attacked by hackers claiming allegiance to hacktivist group Anonymous.
